The icon of Holy Mary is situated in the main altar of the basilica.It is the oldest painting devoted to the cult of the Virgin Mary in Poland.The author of the painting is not known, however, it is dated on the half of the XIII th century.The cult of the Holy Mary concentrates on the icon of Holy Mary.The Krzeszów Abbey is famous for it.There were many pilgrimages in the XVIIth century.
